U18s match report v Cleveland and Lancaster.
27/02/2008

Squad Elegant Eve Macarena May Groovy Gabs Rocking Rachel G Twisting and twirling twinnies Whirling Webbo Splitting Sian lambadaring lyds kurly kelly spinning sarah natural natalie twirling timmy The second match in for South Yorkshires oldies and this time an early morning trip to the KC stadium. Having arrived to discover we were a player short a quick phone call to the U16s saw the wonderful Gabs coming over to help us out. Having got changed and ready to go we then proceeded to lose half our squad in the woods surrounding the pitch! all that could be seen was little patches of purple floating through the trees. Timmys tiger instincts clearly dont include a sense of direction! V Cleveland We looked half asleep in this game and struggled with the bounce on the pitch and cleveland soon took advantage of this. We kept battling and a much improved second half saw us keep cleveland to only one goal in the half and we had several shots on goal thanks to the big balls through from May to Webbo on the top of the oppositions D, sadly we were hampered by the fact Webbo couldnt run due to an injury and the fact cleveland kept headbutting her! We had our chances but sadly failed to convert. result 0-3 player of the match - rachel greenfield for not one but two goal line saves! Now we found ourselves with a spare 40 minutes to watch cleveland and lancaster do battle. Having discovered it was going to be a rather dull game as both teams were very evenly matched the girls decided to create their own entertainment. What started off as a quick sing song on the bench quickly progressed to a bit of dancing with kelly and the twinnies showing off their cha cha sliding! Having discoverd kelly was in possession of the macarena at half time the girls took the opportunity to do the team macarena whilst lancs and cleveland had a half time talk to amuse the spectators who had travelled down to watch the games. This was quickly followed by sian showing off the fact she could do the splits to the terror of the team and kelly showing the possession of her bendy back! there was just time for a quick game of charades where webbo revealed a terror of her wardrobe before a quick team talk from tinks and timmy. v lancaster we were more awake in this game and were the strongest team for the 1st few minutes and going close with sarahs belting strike deflecting off the post. Sadly we just couldnt keep the lancs forwards at bay and two goals later we were feeling a bit sorry for ourselves. this was shortly followed by half time and a well deserved rest. Sadly lancs put another two past us and the fact we had no subs showed in the tiredness of the girls. result 0-4 player of the match rachel greenfield again for some outstanding drives from the back to the attacking D despite normally professing to be terrified of the D where all the shooting happens! we may have lost but lancasters coach did admit in a dance off we would have been the winners! we were also declared the funnest team the lancs coach had seen for a long time! video evidence of the team dancing will be available soon! tinks x
