£17, 161 - £19,126 (Pro Rata - £13,091 - £15,507)

30 hrs per week: Contract until 31st Dec 2010 with possible extension subject to external funding & start date.

You will be responsible for delivering a range of high quality sport and physical activity programmes that are reflective of the needs of young people in local communities across Rotherham. You will also need to develop strong working partnerships with key agencies to support you in this work.

The posts will be employed by RMBC, based at Bailey House and will have a responsibility to develop activities in targeted communities in the North and South of the borough.

You will have relevant experience of coaching young people in a range of environments. You should also have experience of planning and organising sports competitions, events and/or coaching schemes for young people; supervising, mentoring volunteers/assistant coaches; promoting activities particularly with hard to reach target groups.

You should possess a minimum of one level 2 National Governing Body Qualification as well as a range of level one National Governing Body coaching or leadership awards. A first aid qualification is essential and you would ideally be good practice and child protection trained. Experience working with coaches, volunteers and a range of key partners such as the Youth Service is also essential.

The post involves working with children/vulnerable adults and therefore if successful you will be required to apply for a disclosure of criminal records at enhanced level.
